State Cup Semi-Final Wrap Up

Under 14 Boys – Kolts vs Moorebank Sports Soccer Club: result 2-0

In a thrilling semi-final clash at Bernie Mullane, the Kellyville Kolts emerged victorious over Moorebank Sports Soccer Club, securing their place in the Football NSW State Cup Final. Despite the drizzly conditions, the Kolts showcased their determination and skill, ultimately triumphing with a 2-0 victory.

The first half was a tight contest, with both teams battling for control but unable to break the deadlock. The Kolts' defence remained resolute, repelling Moorebank's advances and keeping the score level at halftime.

The breakthrough came in the 46th minute when Harrison Kiss found the back of the net, giving the Kolts a well-deserved lead. This goal sparked a wave of momentum for Kellyville, and they continued to press forward with confidence.

In the 59th minute, Dillion Sweeney doubled the advantage with a clinical finish, cementing the Kolts' dominance in the match. The team's cohesive play and solid defence ensured that Moorebank Sports Soccer Club couldn't mount a comeback.

The final whistle blew with the Kolts securing a 2-0 victory and a coveted spot in the State Cup Final. Congratulations to the team on this outstanding achievement, and best of luck as they aim for the championship!

Under 18 Women – Kolts vs Bankstown Sports Strikers: result 6-1

The Kellyville Kolts U18 Women’s team delivered a commanding performance at Bernie Mullane, securing their spot in the Football NSW State Cup Final with an impressive 6-1 victory over Bankstown Sports Strikers. As the weather cleared, the Kolts demonstrated their prowess and determination, thrilling the home crowd with a dominant display.

The match started with Kellyville asserting control early on. Jasmine Whalen opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a superb finish, quickly followed by her second goal in the 29th minute, giving the Kolts a comfortable lead.  

The second half saw more excitement and drama. An unfortunate own goal by the Kolts in the 49th minute gave Bankstown a glimmer of hope, but Kellyville responded immediately. Just a minute later, Sarah Vall restored the two-goal cushion with a brilliant strike in the 50th minute.

The Kolts continued to press, and their relentless attacking play was rewarded when Jade Seghabi converted a penalty in the 52nd minute. Jessica Searle added another goal to the tally in the 58th minute, further showcasing the team’s offensive strength.

In the 89th minute, Sarah Vall capped off a memorable performance with her second goal of the match, sealing a comprehensive 6-1 victory for Kellyville. The team’s exceptional teamwork and resilience have earned them a well-deserved place in the State Cup Final.
